CROSSWAYS PRESCHOOL
Our Purpose
CrossWays PreSchool is planned with the young child in mind. During
the preschool years, children need many hands-on experiences that are
designed for their own developmental level. Through such experiences,
a sense of order of the world can be constructed by young children.
In addition, socialization skills and healthy self-concepts are carefully
guided by the staff as children interact with one another in play. Our purpose is to acquaint the children with a world that lies beyond home, widen
their backgrounds and provide a broader base for their learning experiences
and social relationships. The program is enriched with simple Bible
songs and stories to help the children see themselves as individuals
growing in God's world.
We plan to help each child:
To work and live effectively with other children and value the
rights of others.
To develop self-identity and to view themselves as having worth
and competence.
To sharpen and widen language skills, both listening and speaking.
To be curiousthat is, to wonder and seek answers to questions.
To strengthen physical skills by using large and small muscles.
To recognize reasonable limits and to grow toward self-discipline
and increased independence.
Most
important is our desire to provide each child with a positive preschool
experience.
Our Day
Each day is planned to include creative, hands-on, developmentally appropriate
activities involving such areas as creative play, art, music, drama,
language experience, reading readiness, math, science, outdoor play,
computer experience, special guests and field trips all centered around
weekly themes. Although routines are well-established, our schedule
is flexible to allow for spontaneous learning opportunities and special
planned experiences.

MOTHERS MORNING OUT
Program Philosophy
The Mother's Morning Out (MMO), a cooperative program, and is designed
to provide parents with a safe and structured environment for their
children, allowing parents to take a morning out. Our
objective
is to encourage the children to interact with each other and to provide
a fun and positive early childhood experience.
Parental Involvement
Our program depends on the active participation of our parents. We require
one parent volunteer per day. We will prepare a monthly schedule in
advance. Parents will provide a snack and drink for the children on
their helper days. We know this will be an exciting experience for both
parents and children. It will also provide for a smoother transition
for the children into our program.

MMO will be offered Monday through Friday from 9:15 a.m. until 11:15
a.m. There is a maximum of eight children in each class, along with
a teacher and a parent helper.
