program-philosophy
Mom’s Morning Out is an Early Childhood Ministry provided by Holy Cross Lutheran Church. This cooperative program is designed to provide parents with a safe and structured environment for children to play while also providing them with an introduction to preschool. For many little ones, this program may be their first experience “away from mom.” Our objective is to make this first early childhood experience positive and fun.

Our classroom size is limited to eight students, one teacher, and one parent helper. This small group setting enables us to give personal attention to each child as well as to create a safe and nurturing atmosphere.

Or program is designed with two and three year olds in mind. Each week a new theme is planned to incorporate developmentally appropriate activities in the areas of dramatic play, sensory discovery, art, small and large motor skills, music, language development, and religion.

Children two years old by the start of the school year are eligible for enrollment. Class options include:

Mon./Wed.

Tues./Thurs.

A General Information and Health Information Form must be submitted to the church office before the first day of the program. Parent Helper
Parent helpers are an essential part of MMO. Parent helpers are asked to participate on a monthly basis. The role of the parent helper is to facilitate play among the children, assist with scheduled activities, and provide snack.

Staff
All staff members receive regular first aid and CPR training. In addition, they are required to take early childhood continuing education courses throughout the year.
