Our Christian sympathy is extended to the family and friends of May Sprenger, 96, who passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in Lincolnshire. We pray for her family and join them in celebrating her life.
May Arleen Sprenger, previously of Mundelein, was born April 29, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Anna Koch. May was a vibrant star who lit up the room with her laughter and smile. In her younger years, May enjoyed golfing, gathering with the Magnificent 7 (ladies group), volunteering at Condell, playing a mean hand of cards, crocheting and being on the lake with her husband, Lou. She loved traveling with Lou, who was a pilot, all over the world. She and Lou were founding members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
As she grew older, she enjoyed her many friends at Holy Cross, especially the various women’s groups and cookie walk clan. She continued to live out her faith while serving in various ways at Holy Cross. Her spunk, sass, and deep love for all was often experienced by many, except when playing Bingo, which was cut-throat in great love. Her greatest love was for God and her family.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey (Jennifer) Sprenger, grandchildren Kristen and Amanda and her great-grandchildren Cameron and Trenton. She is predeceased by her husband Louis Sprenger, daughter Patricia Komaschka, brother Ronald Koch, sister Ethel Schneider and great-grandchild Carrie Ann.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church online at donate.holycrosschurch.org or by mail to 1151 N St Mary’s Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048.
